    Project statement

    The main aim of the project is to contribute both to the development and to the strengthening of Palestinian micro-enterprises through an integrate model of intervention. The project should be implemented in four Governorates in the North of the West Bank and should aim at the development of technical, managerial and employment capacities of the SSEs in 5 sectors (car mechanics, carpentry, blacksmith, trading and manufacture/handicrafts).

    The project’s main components

    -The development and the strengthening of 80 enterprises (1-4 employees) working in one of the selected sector, through technical and managerial training, individual consultancy to the enterprises.

    -The establishment of 20 new enterprises in the selected sectors through:

    -The creation of a network between the graduates of the Industrial Schools and the Vocational Training Centers and the enterprises.

    Beneficiaries of the project, methodology & activities

    • 80 entrepreneurs selected within the specific sectors (at least 20% of them must be women) will benefit by the individual consultancy.
    • 180 entrepreneurs will participate in the technical training, and100 entrepreneurs will benefit by administrative/ managerial training
    • 300 graduates of Industrial Schools and Vocational Training Centers will participate in the awareness workshops.
    • 180 graduates will participate in the “Start your own business” programs.
    • 20 new enterprises will profit of the individual consultancy.
    • 210 entrepreneurs will take part at the open days organized each year in order to establish contacts between the graduate students of Industrial Schools and the Vocational Training Centers, the micro-enterprises and the schools.
    • The three sector associations (car mechanics, carpenters, blacksmiths) will be involved both in the planning of the technical/managerial training and in the micro-enterprises consultancy. This will be possible through their involvement in the advisory committee of the Bisan Unit.
    • As the blacksmith association is not operative, the project will be responsible of its activation.
    • 45 officers and members of the three sector associations will participate at the institutional building program.
    • 3 women entrepreneurs will participate at the training stage in Italy.
    Workshops

    - “How to start your Business” Course which was held in Nablus ,Toulkarem and Qalqilya .

    - Corporations’ Training

    The three corporations (Mechanic, Blacksmith & carpentry) joined this training which aimed to rehabilitate the three corporations, more than one meeting was held- unfortunately- no activity took place due to the political situation.

    - Consulting Committee 6 meetings were held to discuss the strategy of the program, to put down plans and to listen to the committee’s briefings and their recommendations.

    Technical Courses

    Several technical courses were given on a wide range of topics including sewing, upholstery, wood carving, auto car fuel injection and electrician course and a skin care course.
